What is the biggest piece of learning or the best advice you’d like to share when it comes to combining a senior leadership career with raising young children?
Recognise that on returning to the office, you have a lot to contribute. You have learnt to be efficient, focused and effective in your work as a matter of necessity. You have learnt to prioritise and are less likely to stress about the small stuff. Know that you will not be able to give 100% of your energy and focus to both your work and your children all the time- it is literally impossible, but you will learn to balance the competing priorities. Don’t be too hard on yourself with on the odd and inevitable occasion you feel like you have dropped a ball.
