Katharine is the Chief Executive of Become, the national charity for children in care and young care leavers. Katharine has a background in politics and campaigning and has worked in the charity sector trying to create change for the last 15 years.
Before joining Become, she was the inaugural Chief Executive of Agenda, the alliance for women and girls at risk. Prior to that she led policy and campaigns at Crisis, the national charity for homeless people.
She has written and spoken extensively on disadvantage and inequality including across the media and has sat on and chaired government advisory groups.
Katharine is a trustee of Little Village and Children England. Katharine lives in South London with her husband and two little girls aged 3 and 5, one of whom has special needs. Her advice for parents progressing in their careers is to be kind to themselves and to remember that sometimes good enough is good enough!
