Kate Henderson – CEO, National Housing Federation

Kate is Chief Executive of the National Housing Federation (NHF), the voice of housing associations in England.  Prior to joining the NHF in 2018, Kate was Chief Executive of the Town and Country Planning Association for 10 years.

Kate is involved in a number of advisory panels and commissions including the Government’s Rough Sleeping Advisory Panel. She is a highly regarded commentator on housing and urban policy, a visiting professor and co-author of three books. Kate is passionate about tackling the housing crisis, inequality and climate change.

Kate combines her career with raising her two young children (ages 4 and 7).


What is the biggest piece of learning or the best advice you’d like to share when it comes to combining a senior leadership career with raising young children?

Managing a leadership career and young family takes a lot of energy so make sure you look after yourself and take time to recharge.
