Cristy Garratt is an experienced storyteller with a passion for future-proofing legacy media brands and diversifying the world’s newsrooms. With a specialty in digital video production and social media strategy, Cristy uses a mix of gut instinct and data to grow digital audiences from virtually nothing to in the millions.
Cristy serves as the Head of Digital Video and Social Media at CNBC International, based in the leading business and financial news network’s London headquarters. Her international team has launched several new series under her direction, including CNBC Explains, CNBC Reports, Life Hacks Live and Journey Through.
Prior to CNBC, Cristy worked at ITN Productions as Digital Editor and Communities Manager and before that, as a multimedia journalist and fill-in anchor at WTOL 11 in Toledo, Ohio.
Cristy holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the Medill School at Northwestern University, where she served as president of the university’s chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and news director of the Northwestern News Network.
Cristy lives in South East London with her husband and young daughter.
