Job Purpose

Are you passionate about helping leaders with young children advance to senior leadership roles whilst being present with their children? Do you love creating meaningful partnerships with purpose, excel at closing sales and thrive when leading growth with a clear income target? If so, we want you on our team!

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organised Business Development Manager who enjoys taking charge and getting things done. In this hands-on role, you will be the sole person leading  our partnership efforts, sales and business development, building strong relationships with employer partners and achieving ambitious targets. Join us in making a real impact on gender equality in the workplace.

What We Do

Leaders Plus is an award-winning social enterprise dedicated to supporting leaders with babies and young children to progress in their leadership careers. Our flagship intervention is a 9-month award-winning Fellowship Programme for working parents which leads to promotion and therefore gender equality at the top. We have also started to engage in research and thought leadership, publishing our Big Parent Career Progression report. Our employer partners include varied organisations such as the RSPCA, King’s College Hospital Trust and HSBC Global Internal Audit.

Your Role Within Our Team

Too many mothers find that their careers stall when they have children. This is a root cause for the lack of women at the executive director level. Our multi-award-winning Leaders Plus Fellowship supports working parents to progress their careers against the odds. You will lead the growth of our employer partnerships and manage a pipeline of applications from working parents, reporting to our CEO & Founder. This will help us to increase the number of parents we support so that in 2030, we have 1000 women in executive director roles who wouldn’t be there without our support.

Our social enterprise is at a crucial stage of growth, having grown steeply over the past years and this role will be critical in helping us to scale further. You will join a small team consisting of our CEO & Founder, our Programme Officer and Programme Coordinator who deliver the programme, a Digital Marketing Officer and an Executive Assistant, and a team of 5 freelance trainers who deliver our training and yourself. We value making a difference, excelling at work and enjoying our time off – at the moment we all work part-time and are all off on Fridays.

Apply Cover letter (max 1 page) and CV (max 2 pages) sent to office@leadersplus.org.uk, outlining how you fulfil the key requirements of the role and answering the following two questions:

  • What attracted you to apply for this role?
  • What top 5 successes do you bring where you could apply the learning to this role?

Closing date: 12 July midnight

Interviews: 24 and 25 July

Ideal start: As soon as possible but we can wait for the right candidate
