Amy Cooper is a Director of Training for ISTIP, a national organisation and an appropriate body for Early Career Teacher (ECT) Induction. Working with 2000+ ECTs and 750+ independent schools in England and overseas, she is responsible for the strategic development and delivery of training for ECTs and their mentors. As part of this role, she has also qualified as an executive coach with AoEC and is working towards her ICF ACC accreditation.
Amy has been working in education for over 16 years, starting out as an Art teacher in the state sector and progressing up into middle management, completing a Master’s in Education Assessment and then into senior leadership, applying for the role whilst on her first maternity leave. Before leaving teaching in 2023 she was a senior leader in a successful boys’ secondary independent school in South London, she had responsibility for the strategic planning of teaching, learning, recruitment, retention, digital strategy, staff development and appraisals whilst also line managing 8 academic departments.
Amy is a school governor at a local state junior school in Surrey and a fellow at the CCT and RSA.
Amy lives in Epsom, Surrey with her husband Toby and two young daughters – who are in school and nursery. The family is due to move to Devon in July.
